My new name for those who believe autonomous technology is the panacea for all ills is – Autonomists.
This label allows all to keep distinct research findings about how to use new technological powers to serve human purposes from the question — why do people continue to be fascinated about autonomous machines since the fads of 18th century automata?
The current leading candidate for the definition  of autonomist (devil’s dictionary style) is:
Autonomist: a person (or possibly a robot ) who deeply believes in the value of autonomy for every one, except human beings.
